Responsibilities of Sr. Superintendent:

As a Construction Superintendent, you’ll have the unique role of ensuring safety standards, quality control, and seamless team operations directly at the project site. Key duties include leading field operations and supervising subcontractors and labor teams.

  • As the Sr. Superintendent for detention center projects, your responsibilities will include:
  • Project Planning and Execution: Leading the development of detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Managing cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure project success.
  • Stakeholder and Client Communication: Acting as the primary liaison between clients, government agencies, and internal teams, providing regular updates and addressing issues.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensuring all construction activities meet safety regulations, industry standards, and government protocols.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks early and implementing solutions to avoid delays and budget overruns.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates are skilled in hands-on construction management, with a strong knowledge of safety protocols (e.g., OSHA certification preferred) and experience managing daily on-site operations and staff coordination. To excel in this role, you should have:

  • 7+ years of experience managing public sector or high-security construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of detention center operations, safety protocols, and government regulations.
  • Proven leadership abilities and expertise in managing multiple, large-scale projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; Pmp certifications – not needed.
  • Procure experience is a plus.
