Responsibilities
As a Senior Estimator, you will lead cost estimation efforts for educational construction projects, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals and timelines. Key duties include:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment required for K-12 and university projects.
- Pre-Construction Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to refine project scopes and budgets.
- Bid Management: Evaluate subcontractor proposals and develop competitive bids to secure new projects.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential cost risks and develop strategies to mitigate financial impact.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present detailed cost analyses and timelines to clients and other stakeholders.
- Market Research: Stay updated on trends in educational construction materials and techniques to optimize costs.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a strong background in estimating for educational construction projects and a solid understanding of compliance and quality standards.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in estimating for K-12 schools and universities or similar institutional construction projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with ADA compliance, sustainable design practices, and safety standards for educational facilities.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications: PMP certification is not required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and analytical skills to manage complex cost models.
- Procure Experience: Is a plus.
