Responsibilities
As an Estimator, you will take charge of the cost planning and financial forecasting for distribution center projects. Key duties include:
- Cost Estimation: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment required for distribution center construction.
- Bid Preparation: Analyze subcontractor bids and prepare competitive proposals to secure new projects.
- Risk Analysis: Identify potential cost-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to align cost estimates with project objectives.
- Client Communication: Present cost breakdowns and timelines to clients and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Market Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and material costs to maintain competitive pricing strategies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in construction estimation, particularly for large-scale distribution center or industrial projects.
- Experience: 5+ years in estimating for distribution center construction or similar projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of distribution center design, automation, and material handling systems.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications: PMP certification is not required.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent analytical skills to handle complex cost models and ensure accuracy.
- Procure Experience: Is a plus.
